Guess what's the donor bike of this build from Venice by Just Bike...

“The basis is a 1994 Honda CB500 which we wanted to turn into a lakester – Loris says – Her name, Lagoonster is right after this inspiration. Here in venice, we don’t have lakes. But our lagoon needs no introduction. From a mechanic standpoint, this bike is top reliable and we just add racing pods to the carbs and a proper freeflow muffler at the end of the stock pipes which we rapped into thermal bands. The front fork has been shortened by 2 inches, changing the inner pumps, and reverse mounted in order to install a single caliper brake forward (mill machined in order to improve its aspect). At the rear end, we have new Progressive Suspensions, 2 inches shorter than stock. The rear subframe has been entirely custom rebuilt, making it shorter and modifying the shape in order to have the top of the frame parallel to the ground. The custom built fairing is carbon made as well as the new monocoque bodywork and the lenticular rim covers. Every single piece of the bodywork has been designed and hand made by us. The monocoque also cover the stock frame which would look unpleasantly heavy. Inside we moved the battery and the electrics, while the fuel tank is now under the seat, which we equipped with a quick release system. The fuel tank is obviously another bespoke part: stainless steel made, 8 litres capacity. We have also built several billet details such as the anti-twist plate, the sprocket cover, the footpegs, and so on. The Brembo front brake master cylinder is mill machined, the clutch is an off road unit, the handlebar is a classic upside down sportbar with integrated buttons for the indicators and the horns. The headlights are perhaps the strangest part of the bike: a couple of spotlights mounted on the front fork legs act as low beams, while the radiator box hosts two lights with their billet aluminium covers. The tail light and rear indicators are instead housed inside the monocoque and, when turned off, they are virtually invisible. Of course, all the lights are LEDs". Oh yeah... How to save un ugly CB500 from the 90's and making it something really special. Just think about it!

“Si tratta di una CB500 del 1994 trasformata usando come ispirazione le vecchie lakester. - Scrive Loris di Just Bike - Il suo nome, Lagoonster, deriva appunto da questa ispirazione: qui a Venezia laghi non ne abbiamo, ma la nostra laguna non ha bisogno di presentazioni. Meccanicamente questa moto è affidabilissima e il motore ha subito solo l'adozione di filtri in spugna ed uno scarico libero con benda nei collettori. Le forcella anteriore è stata accorciata di circa 5cm con modifica dei pompanti ed è stata montata al contrario in modo da poter montare la pinza freno singola (modificata in fresa per renderla esteticamente più gradevole) in posizione avanzata; al posteriore ci sono degli ammortizzatori Progressive Suspension circa 5cm più corti di quelli di serie. La parte posteriore del telaio è stata completamente modificata, accorciandola e spostando le travi superiori del telaietto per renderle più parallele al terreno. La parte estetica si avvale di un cupolino artigianale in carbonio, di una monoscocca in carbonio ed una serie di cover ruote sempre in carbonio, il tutto disegnato, scolpito e creato da noi a mano. Il monoscocca nasconde le travi principali del telaio che esteticamente risulterebbero molto ingombranti, sotto al monoscocca ed all'interno delle travi trovano posto la batteria e tutto l'impianto elettrico mentre, sotto la sella a sgancio rapido, si trova un serbatoio da 8 litri con riserva in acciaio inox appositamente costruito da noi. Abbiamo poi creato molte parti dal pieno come la piastra antisvergolo, il copripignone, le pedane, e molte altre parti. La pompa freno anteriore è Brembo modificata in fresa, la frizione è un unita' da cross, il manubrio è un classico naked sottosopra con pulsanti per frecce e clacson integrati. I fari sono forse la parte più strana della moto: all'anteriore ci sono una coppia di faretti attaccati direttamente ai foderi forcella che fungono da anabbaglianti, mentre nel radiatore sono alloggiate due luci all'interno di apposite sedi in alluminio ricavato dal pieno: al posteriore fari e frecce sono alloggiati all'interno del monoscocca e, quando spenti, è difficile vederli. Ovviamente tutte le luci sono a led“. Ebbene si: come salvare una brutta CB500 degli anni novanta e farne qualcosa di davvero speciale! meditate gente, meditate!
