Project Beckman

1982 IZH Jupiter 4 entirely rebuilt from scratch.

Fully re-engineered by ICM in Ukraine and powered by a self designed two-stroke triple engine, built starting from the stock 350cc twin engine and using Yamaha 350 parts to get a 555 cc powertrain, able to provide 50hp @ 7500 RPM.

Realizzazione artigianale basata su una IZH Jupiter 350 cc, bicilindrica 2 tempi del 1982, completamente riprogettata da zero dalla Iron Custom Motorcycles e dotata di un nuovo motore tre cilindri, autocostruito utilizzando componenti Yamaha 350 per avere una cilindrata totale di 555 cc in grado di erogare 50CV a 7500 giri.

2004 Bajaj Pulsar 150: original cafe racer build, by The Hustler Moto in India

“There is something about bikes which is beyond logic. When you are riding a bike on a long drive, the wind on your face ruffling your hair makes you feel one with nature. But the passion of the bike riders is only second to that of those who make them beautiful: the people who customize bikes. I am very passionate about bikes since my childhood and it was my dream to open my own custom motorcycle workshop. So I decided to go with my dream instead of a 9-5 job. I chose pulsar150 (2004 model) because it was a motorcycle that brought the Indian youth closer to the performance motorcycling that they had ever been. Fully loaded, yet affordable; aggressive and ‘definitely male’ – that was the Pulsar for you. Bike is painted in pearl yellow with black stripes. These black stripes are highlighting the unique stance of café racer. The complete bodywork has been replaced with new cafe racer style handmade panels. Up front is a short café styled mudguard with small yet classic looking headlamp. The single-piece handlebar has been replaced by a lathe machined clip-on unit. The old meter console is replaced by an aftermarket pair of retro looking analog odometer and RPM meter intermingled with a custom handmade smart phone holder for GPS speedometer and other details. The fuel tank has been replaced by the iconic Yamaha RX100’s fuel tank because of its conventional café racer look. The rear cowl replaces the pillion seat while the oval shaped twin LED tail lights sits under the cowl.

"C'è qualcosa nelle moto che va oltre la logica. Quando sei in sella a una moto per un lungo viaggio, il vento ti scompiglia i capelli ti fa sentire tutt'uno con la natura. Ma la passione dei motociclisti è seconda solo a quella di coloro che le rendono speciali: le persone che costruiscono moto. Sono appassionato di moto fin dalla mia infanzia e il mio sogno era quello di aprire una mia officina custom. Così ho deciso di realizzarlo, invece di vercare un lavoro da impiegato. Ho scelto la Pulsar150, perché è la moto che più di altre ha portato i giovani indiani vicini al motociclismo sportivo. Prestazionale, ma a prezzi accessibili; aggressiva e sicuramente maschia. Ho scelto di verniciarla giallo perla con bande nere. Le decorazioni in nero enfatizzano lo stile café. La carrozzeria è stata interamente realizzata con parti autocostruite. All'avantreno c'è ora un piccolo parafango e un faro di dimensioni ridotte. Il manubrio è stato sostituito con semimanubri che ho realizzato artigianalmente. Sulla console, il vecchio tachimetro è sostituito da una coppia aftermarket (speedo e contagiri) in stile retrò nonchè da un supporto artigianale per l'uso di uno smartphone come tachimetro GPS e per altre info di dettaglio. Il serbatoio è ora quello di una iconica Yamaha RX100, che ho scelto per la sua forma di sipirazione Café Racer. Il codino sostituisce la sella del passeggero e accoglie una coppia di fanalini posteriori a LED. Gli aggiornamenti meccanici hanno previsto l'aggiunta di un filtro aria K&N, il carburatore con getti maggiorati e lo scarico artigianale". Pankaj Sattawat
